Tom Ehlers installed as 2023-2024 American Legion Commander 

Tom Ehlers is a member of Lewisville Post 522, was elected Commander of the American Legion Department of North Carolina at ceremonies in Raleigh on June 10, 2023.

Commander Ehlers served in the US Navy from 1968 – 1972. Commander Ehlers is a PUFL member of The American Legion and he has served The American Legion Department of North Carolina as Post Commander, District 18 Commander, and Department Vice-Commander for Division 4. His volunteer duties on the state level included serving on the Administrative Committee, Internal Affairs Commission, Resolutions Committee, Building Committee and the 100th Anniversary Committee.  He also served on the National Employment and Veterans Preference Committee and as a National Commanders Representative.

Commander Ehlers significant other is Paula, he has two children, 1 son-in-law and 2 grandchildren.   

Tom lives in Lewisville, NC, where has been a member of Post 522 for 17 years.
